And it is available to try without any financial risk to the patient for up to 30 days.

Below are a few of the various styles of hearing aids we offer at Hearing Aid & Speech Systems, including one of the latest technologies - the "Open Fit."

Types of Hearing Aids.

ITE - In The Ear
ITC - In The Canal

CIC - Completely In Canal
BTE - Behind The Ear

Open Ear Devices
(Slim Tube Style)

Completely-in-the-Canal (CIC) The newest and smallest hearing aids available, these fit deep inside your ear canal so that they're nearly invisible.

In-the-Canal (ITC) These are small enough to fit almost entirely in your ear canal, making them hardly noticeable.

In-the-Ear (ITE) These are one-piece aids custom-made to fit within your ear. They are the most widely recommended hearing aid style.

Behind-the-Ear (BTE) These fit snugly behind your ear and are attached to a custom earpiece molded to the shape of your outer ear.

Open Ear Devices (Slim Tube Style). These tiny units are cosmetically appealing. They provide natural sound, minimize whistling, and eliminates the plugged-up feeling.

Advantages of Open Ear, CIC, ITC and ITE aids
In custom hearing aids, the receiver, microphone and amplifier are built into a custom-made shell worn in the ear.

  • Cosmetically appealing - offers the advantage of being inconspicuous, invisible to hardly visible when worn.
  • Perfect for an active lifestyle - Ideal to wear for sports, exercise and work.
  • Reduced feedback and wind noise - The Open Ear and CIC style in particular also offers the advantages of reduced feedback and wind noise, along with ease of telephone use.

Advantages of a BTE aid
In BTE hearing aids, the receiver, microphone and amplifier are contained in a unit worn behind the ear. Sound is carried from the receiver via the earhook and a flexible plastic tube to the earmold worn in the ear canal.
  • Versatile - A wide range of applications ranging from mild to severe hearing loss.
  • Easy to handle - Easy battery replacement, easy to use and easy to wear.
  • Comfortable to wear - Fits securely and comfortably behind the ear.
  • More Power - Because of the larger battery used, BTEs are the most powerful aids available.
  • The #1 choice for pediatric fittings - BTEs are the best hearing aids for rapidly growing children's ears.
No matter which style you choose, custom-made and BTE hearing aids include a variety of sizes and features to provide the best solution for your hearing loss. All four styles of hearing aids are available in analog, digitally programmable, and fully digital technologies.
