Occasionally we are asked to speak to groups about hearing loss. We will be happy to provide your group with such a program. We regularly do these talks for mobile home parks, assisted living communities, and the public. Florida Hearing Aid Systems also regularly hosts seminar. These seminars focus on clarifying some of the confusion regarding hearing aids. Florida Hearing Aid Systems agrees to comply with the applicable provisions of the Administrative Simplification section of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) of 1996, as codified at 42 U.S.C. 1230d through d-8, and the requirements of any regulations promulgated thereunder including without limitation the federal privacy regulations as contained in CFR Part 164 (the "Federal Privacy Regulations") and the federal security standards contained in 45 CFR Part 142 (the Federal Security Regulations"). Florida Hearing Aid Systems agrees not to use or disclose any protected health information, as defined in 45 CFR 164.504, or individually identifiable health information, as defined in 45 U.S.C. 1230d (collectively, the "Protected Health Information"), regulations promulgated under HIPAA including without limitation the Federal Privacy Regulations and the Federal Security Regulations. Florida Hearing Aid Systems agrees to implement appropriate safeguards to prevent the use or disclosure of a resident’s Protected Health Information other than as permitted by law.
